2- Axa Insurance – Comprehensive Travel Health Insurance

Participants in activities are required to obtain the mandatory insurance based on the type of activity.

​Approval regarding the arrangements for health insurance [for studies and internships] will be included in this agreement. Generally, the participant's basic expenses are covered by the national health insurance through the European Health Insurance Card while in another EU country. However, the European Health Insurance Card or private insurance coverage may not be sufficient, especially in cases of repatriation or specific medical interventions. In such cases, supplementary private insurance may be beneficial. It is the responsibility of the organization sending the student to be informed about health insurance matters.

Confirmation that liability (responsibility) insurance covering damages caused by the student in the workplace is obtained for internship students, and an explanation of how the insurance is obtained, will be included in this agreement.

Liability insurance covers damages caused by the student throughout the period spent abroad, regardless of whether they are in the workplace or not. Different countries participating in international internship mobility have different regulations regarding liability insurance. Therefore, interns face the risk of being outside the insurance coverage. Hence, it is mandatory to obtain liability insurance that will at least cover the damages the participant may cause in the workplace.

Confirmation that an accident insurance covering the duties of the student (at least covering damages suffered by the student in the workplace) is obtained for internship students, and an explanation of how the insurance is obtained, will be included in this agreement.

​This insurance covers damages that employees may suffer due to accidents in the workplace. In many countries, employees are insured against such accidents in the workplace. However, the extent to which international interns will be protected under the same insurance coverage may vary between countries participating in international learning mobility programs.
